Find Your Dream: The Songs of Rogers and Hammerstein

The New York Pops performs the timeless music of Rodgers and Hammerstein on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. in Find Your Dream: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein joined by guest artists Laura Michelle Kelly and Max von Essen, as well as Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA. The concert spans all eleven of Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic collaborations, including "People Will Say We're in Love" from Oklahoma!, "You'll Never Walk Alone" from Carousel, "Some Enchanted Evening" from South Pacific, "I Have Dreamed" from The King and I, and "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" from The Sound of Music.

Laura Michelle Kelly Will Play Jane Austen in Austen's Pride Musical

Laura Michelle Kelly, who originated the title role in the London production of Mary Poppins and was seen as Sylvia in Broadway’s Finding Neverland, will play Jane Austen in The 5th Avenue Theatre’s production of Austen's Pride: A New Musical of Pride and Prejudice, which begins previews October 4 prior to an official opening October 18. Kelly, who was also seen in the Barrington Stage Company's world premiere of The Royal Family, will co-star opposite Clifton Davis, the stage and screen actor who originated the role of the Sultan in Broadway's Aladdin. Davis’ numerous screen credits include Madam Secretary, Amen, and That’s My Mama. Additional casting will be announced later.

The complete cast is set for the St. Louis Muny’s upcoming presentation of Matilda, rounding out the outdoor venue’s 101st season August 5–11. Starring as Matilda will be Mattea Conforti, who made her Broadway debut in the title role of the musical (she’s since appeared on Broadway in Sunday in the Park With George and Frozen). Also joining the principal cast is Darlesia Cearcy (Once On This Island) as Mrs. Phelps. The ensemble will feature Maya Bowles, Colby Dezelick, Sean Ewing, Ryan Fitzgerald, Berklea Going, Trevor Michael Schmidt, Gabi Stapula and Sharrod Williams, as well as the Muny Kid and Teen youth ensemble.
